I was born in the early 80's in Nyeri, Kenya. After stints in the UK and Canada, my family emigrated to The United States in the 1990's. I received a Bachelor's degree in Eastern and African Religions from The University of Virginia and a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.

In 2011, I left a PhD program to pursue creative opportunities in New York. Since then I've been photographing, art directing, writing, and mentoring young adults. My husband, Rog, and I produce Paper Monday, a photo driven publication of conceptual storylines, interviews, and writing that encourages creative endeavor.

From time to time, I appear in front of the lens (often in my husband's work). I have been photographed for Essence Magazine, appeared in Elle South Africa, and featured in campaigns for Uniqlo, Puma, The New York Times, and Refinery29.
